Spring 2017 Staff Needs/Wants List:
I apologize for all of the confusion regarding STEM kits and PTG, etc. I would like everyone to please utilize this spreadsheet to add any items you need/want. I know we talked about STEM kits at a meeting earlier this year but I don’t want anyone to feel stifled in thinking about this list. If you would, talk as a grade level but I would also like to open this to your own individual classroom as well. If you would be able to rotate materials, only ask for 1 item instead of 5 per grade level.
I will then share these ideas with our PTG in the event they would like to vote to fund the needs/wants. In addition, we may be able to use some of our building funds as well. Some possibilities could include:
- Guided Reading library books
- Books for read alouds
- STEM materials
- Additional math center resources
- Brain break resources
- Classroom library books

Don't forget to share the love for Paula on Friday!
Concord EXPO:
This was such a great celebration of learning! From art displays to STEM scouts to the MySci Investigation bus, families enjoyed participating in all of the activities.
2nd Grade Entrepreneur Fair: Our second grade entrepreneurs worked hard to promote their businesses and sell their goods. What a fun afternoon of buying and selling in 2nd grade!
PEGS Program Will Move to Kennerly:
Due to growing resident enrollment districtwide, the elementary PEGS program will move to Kennerly Elementary School in 2017-18. Concord’s resident enrollment next year will be at capacity. While our growth is expected to be slower than other Lindbergh elementary schools over the next four years, starting out full unfortunately leaves no extra classroom space for additional programs. Kennerly has open classrooms available and room to grow. We will miss all of our students and teachers in PEGS, and we wish them all the best at their new home, at Kennerly!
Recess Before Lunch: Please read this article and start thinking about the pros and cons. We will be discussing it at our next staff meeting.
Wednesday, April 5th is the next early release day. Dismissal is at 1:40 PM. Please notify the office of any dismissal changes.
A special thanks to everyone who contributed to the Concord Expo! It was such a wonderful learning experience for our students.
