Weekly Update 5.20.17-END OF SCHOOL!

Intruder Drill: We will have an intruder drill on Tuesday at approximately 9:00 under the supervision of Officer Kriska.  Please let parents and students know that this is a drill ahead of time.  I will be communicating this to parents in my email as well.  This is the drill that you will determine your course of action dependent upon the location of the intruder.  You can escape the building or lock down in your classroom.  Let me know if you have questions.

On Tuesday, we will have a school wide Read-a-thon from 1:30-2:30 p.m.   Students can use a device, read with a buddy, read to one another, or listen to reading. Feel free to take the class somewhere special to read throughout the building to break up the time.  If you don’t have a classroom, we would love it if you could make a surprise visit to read with a student.   We will use the party day schedule:

Yearbook Update:
Please check out the last page of your yearbook for instructions on how to see more photos and videos from this past school year. The Aurasma app can be downloaded to any smart device.

End of Year Reminders:
  • As you are packing up your rooms, be sure to label everything especially for those of you who are moving rooms.  In addition, please send any consumable materials home with students regardless of completion.  Let me know if you have any questions about this.
  • Lunch money notices will be sent home on Monday.  We need to get this collected before the end of the year.
  • Please return all library and guided reading books back as soon as possible.
  • Everyone will need to complete this end of year checklist before leaving on Friday, May 26th.  One change is that you no longer need to complete anything in the permanent records.  A sticker will be placed on the student's record over the summer.   Thank you and happy packing!

A special thank you to everyone who helped with the Volunteer Tea including: Amy Tilley, Jennifer Syrett, Matt Keutzer, Cindy Snyder, Madi Sparrow, Leslie Weiss, Susan Byrant, and Valerie Creech.  It was such a lovely morning for our Concord Volunteers.
Another thank you to our wonderful 5th grade teachers for the DARE celebration on Thursday.  It was such a great time for students and parents to reflect on their time here at Concord.

With Sheri moving to Kennerly, we will need someone to step up to take on the Girls on the Run school liaison.  You don’t have to be at practices but we need someone to be the contact person for Concord.  Please let me know if you are willing to take this on.  Still hoping someone will take this on.  ;)

Fun Day Schedules for Friday:

Weekly Update 5.7.17-5.13.17

I hope you were able to enjoy this suprise spring break and the beautiful sun this weekend. I want to thank you for all of your help on Tuesday…..I am glad that we were able to all be safe at home for the rest of the week.  We are waiting to find out if the flood days will be excused by DESE.  Until that happens there are several unknowns, one of those being Friday.  As of now, we are going to plan as though Friday will be a PD day, but I will get that information out to you and parents if anything changes.

Faculty Meeting: Please note that we will begin at 8:00 a.m. on Tuesday to allow everyone enough time to park at the Farmer’s Club.  Grandparents’ Day has been rescheduled to this day.  This will likely be the last time we are all gathered together, and we have several celebrations!

Learning Labs Rescheduled:
We are going to do our class placements on Tuesday of this week, except for Kindergarten which will be on Thursday.  We will meet in your PLC rooms.

Professional Development Day-May 12th: Final details will be coming soon.  Please be sure to make your lunch choice by clicking here:  Lunch order

Thank you to our PTG for the wonderful breakfast on Tuesday!  Panera was delicious.  Teacher appreciation week will continue into this week as follows:
