Weekly Update 4.30.17-5.6.17

JA in a Day Schedule:

Professional Development Day-May 12th:
The PD committee is working to develop an AWESOME plan for our day.  Please be sure to make your lunch choice by clicking here:  Lunch order

GOTR Liaison
With Sheri moving to Kennerly, we will need someone to step up to take on the Girls on the Run school liaison.  You don’t have to be at practices but we need someone to be the contact person for Concord.  Please let me know if you are willing to take this on.

MYON Update:
It looks like students are getting in and taking advantage of this awesome program!  Please let me know if you need any help with getting your classes logged in.  In June, we will need to make some decisions about if it will be purchased for next year decision based on teacher and student feedback.
We now have access to myON News, a great current events component that you and your kids may love.  Each article has three different levels.  You can use it in guided reading for short texts on current events.  Use the directions below to get going with myON News.

  • “myON News”-powered by News-o-Matic “Powering Students to be Informed Citizens”
  • 5 daily news articles, 5 days a week, 52 weeks a year (written for students and reviewed by a child psychologist)
  • Articles Published in three Lexile levels + Spanish-automated through myON
  • Recorded audio offered in English and Spanish
  • Aligned books to current news articles
  • Current events with topics ranging from US news, animals, international, sports, wacky stories and more!
  • CLICK HERE for more information about myON News!

Fidget Spinner Update:
We are banning these effective immediately.  Please feel free to collect and return at the end of the day or send them to the office.
